Mobile homes are being rented now more than ever before.  Communities, though, cannot inspect these properties and they have fallen into disrepair.  The House Intergovernmental Committee today passed HB 4801, which will allow communities to do safety inspections of mobile homes if they choose to.  Rep. Bob Constan (D-Dearborn Heights) has pushed this bill, along with the City of Inkster. The League has testified in support of this legislation and been part of workgroups to tweak the bill.  The mobile home industry opposed the legisaltion, but the committee passed it unanimously and it is expected to be taken up soon by the House!
