A new report from "The Bridge" magazine details falling property values in communities across the state from 2007-2011.
The report, titled "The Big Flush" details how $180 billion has been removed from the property tax base over the last four years due a continuing state and national recession. The study performed was based on Department of Treasury data.
Oakland County was the hardest hit, losing 32% of its property value during the time period. However, not all counties saw declines, as several counties in the Upper Peninsula actually saw increases in property values.
