The annual National League of Cities Congress of Cities conference was recently attended by local officials from across Michigan as well as MML Board of Trustee members and three students through the Dennis Archer and Merrill S. Bailey Scholarship programs.

Attendees to this year's conference heard from speakers on a variety of topics including infrastructure, economic development, green cities and children and families.

As has been standard practice for many years, three high school students were chosen to attend through a essay contest sponsored by the Michigan Municipal League Foundation and funded by the Dennis Archer and Merrill S. Bailey Scholarship Programs.  They were Wayne Askew II from Canton, Janette St. Bernard from Adrian and Kristen Jordan from Grand Blanc.
