Last week I had the opportunity to join other members of the Michigan Transportation Team, and visit Washington DC  to meet with the Michigan Congressional delegation and discuss federal transportation and infrastructure funding and policy.

Approximately 30 people, representng business, labor and local government, discussed a number of issues surrounding a new transportation funding bill, sewer and water project funding and other infrastructure issues with members and staff.

This is a critical time as both the House and Senate look to advance a new transportation authorization act during the month of June while at the same time discussions begin on the 2012 budget. Please continue to contact your congressional representatives to tell them your stories.
