This week the House Energy & Technology Committee unanimously reported HB 5622, a bill that authorizes $1.7 million be allocated from the Emergency E-911 fund to the Michigan State Police (MSP) to match a federal grant.  This grant will allow for the acquisiton and deployment of a state-integrated Internet Protocol based E-911 mapping system.  The legislation specifies that all costs associated with the mapping system will be paid for by the federal grant or state matching resources.
