This week the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) issued a press release announcing it would be launching an investigation into the installation of smart meters by Michigan's regulated utilities.

Several Michigan communities have passed resolutions urging the MPSC to look into the deployment of smart meters. The MPSC has asked utilities to submit detailed information regarding their smart meter programs by March 16, 2012.
