LANSING, Michigan - This morning the Senate Judiciary Committee reported two bills amending the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act (MMMA).
SB 377 would give law enforcement officers access to patient information to allow officers to verify that an individual is a patient. SB 418 prohibits a private cause of action under the MMMA against the state or a local unit of government.
The League testified in support of this legislation and also indicated additional clarifications it would like to see in the law. This law has caused many challenges for Michigan communities and League members and the issue will be one topic discussed as part of the League’s annual Convention taking place Oct. 4-7 during ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.
