For 40 years the League has made virtually  no progress on PA 312. I'm cautiously optimistic that we're going to change that this year.  Representatives Geiss and Haveman along with Senator Jansen have invited a number of parties to attend a workgroup to hammer out some of the issues with the law. The League will be there, as well as police and fire unions and a number of lobbyists and staff. I think we have a real opportunity in these economic times to get something accomplished on this issue. If you see your legislator while he/she is home on break, tell them the effects of PA 312 on your community.
