There has obviously been a lot going on this last week in terms of proposals from all political spectrums. Last week Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon announced a health care plan that would consolidate local units of government, the state and schools into a single state-wide health care plan.  This plan has been criticized by the Governor and some unions, including the Michigan Education Association (MEA). Yesterday the Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop announced his support for the Speaker's plan.  The League is reviewing the plan; however, we have stated that without reforming PA 312, the plan would exempt public safety employees.
