The Michigan Department of Transportation has recently announced three different program updates for local road agencies. First, the department is seeking new candidate project applications for the FY2012 High Risk Rural Road program. It is expected that the 2012 budget will provide $3 million of federal funding for these projects. Project candidates should be submitted by Friday, March 19, 2010. Please see the attached file for application and program details. The department is also promoting a second FY2012 grant program aimed at local highway safety improvement projects. MDOT is anticipating over $15 million for the FY 2012 Federal Local Safety Program. Applicants are encouraged to submit projects prior to Friday, April 16, 2010. Details are attached. Finally, MDOT has sent one final reminder of the February 16, 2010 deadline for obligation of all ARRA project funds. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further information.
