Last week, the House held another hearing on revenue sharing and Governor Snyder’s proposal he unveiled during his special message a few weeks ago. League staff along with a few League members testified at the hearing on a variety of topics including the history of the funding, the impact of cuts, and questions we have surrounding the Governor’s proposal. The League specifically indicated that while we aren’t opposed to going down a path of setting criteria to obtain the funding, we remain concerned as to how this will be implemented. The House is expected to come out with their own proposal on this topic sometime in the next couple of weeks and we expect budget bills to be voted out of committee soon after that.
