In an earlier post on I mentioned that we'd have to watch the state legislature carefully as they had plans to put their own stamp on the stimulus dollars.  I hate to say I told you so, but Senate Republicans actually floated the idea this week of using stimulus dollars to plug the budget hole that would be created if the surcharge on the Michigan Business Tax is eliminated.  Now, whether or not you think the surcharge on the new MBT should be eliminated or not, its absolutely outrageous for our state legislators to consider using stimulus funds to offset its elimination.   Tell them to keep their hands off this money!
