Two years ago, in an effort to provide policymakers, the public and the media factual information about Michigan's budget, and tax and revenue situation the League co-founded the Michigan Fiscal Responsibility Project. Our efforts have helped to change the conversation and give lawmakers a different perspective about tax and spending policies. The brochure "10 Facts Michigan Citizens Need to Know About Michigan's Fiscal Crisis" has been widely distributed across the state and to this day continues to provide key pieces of informaton. In this era of term limits it is important to continue educating lawmakers. With 44 new House members about to be part of the upcoming discussion on how to address to Michigan's continuing budget crisis and the Speaker's wish to revamp Michigan's tax structure, the project will continue to be a a voice .
