Another long day in Lansing and nothing has actually been accomplished (at least publicly). No budgets have been voted out by either chamber. The General Government conference committee convened briefly at 1 p.m. Senator Pappageorge told the room again that revenue sharing is the sticking point and they are still working to come in under the target number. Senator Pappageorge contended that he's trying to get the cut down from 13.5% to 12%; however, even a 12% cut is unacceptable and will have drastic impacts on our communities.  Your calls to your legislators are critical as we find that revenue sharing is the sole sticking point in this budget. Rep. Durhal has indicated that he refuses to give in to the drastic cut. Keep up the contact with Lansing!
