Today the House Transportation Committee moved two bills that would ban text message while driving. However the bills were scaled back from their introduced version so that texting is only a secondary offense. A law enforcement officer wouldn't be able to stop someone for texting alone. While we'd obviously like to see this be a primary offense, we are still supportive of these bills as we think it is important to continue this conversation.
