This afternoon the House Government Operations Committee heard testimony on HB 4205, a bill that would repeal PA 312 of 1969. The League was joined by several members to testify in support of the legislation.

The bill was hotly opposed by the public safety unions, and a number of firefighters picketed outside the House Office Building. Despite the contentious atmosphere the hearing was a good conversation on the issue.

The committee did not vote on the bill and will likely take additional testimony at a later date.
