Earlier this year the Supreme Court Administrative Office issued a report recommending eliminating some judge positions throughout Michigan. In addition some courts could be consolidated.

This morning the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony on bills to implement this report. The cities of Hazel Park, Ferndale and Berkley testified about the harmful effect this type of consolidation could have on their communities.

The committee will continue to hear testimony on this issue in the coming weeks.
