The House Ethics and Elections Committee considered a pair of bills this morning that would allow a voter to register online. HBs 4539 and 4540 (both introduced by Representative Liss) would allow a voter to submit a voter registration application online. A number of groups supported the concept including the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks. There were a few concerns raised by legislators the largest of which is voter fraud. The committee is expected to address the concerns and report the bills next week.
