LANSING, Michigan - A group of community leaders and members of the Michigan Municipal League are meeting today to discuss a long-term financial plan for Michigan's future. In this photo below the 20-member group listens to Mitchell E. Bean, Director of the House Fiscal Agency. Bean talked about the state's budget situation. He gave several reasons for the state's current budget crisis, including the decline of the auto industry and how the state has lost about $9 billion in federal dollars: "The chunk of the pie from the federal government has shrunk by $9 billion dollars and that's a heck a lot of money," Bean said.
