Yesterday afternoon the House Oversight Committee held a hearing on HB 4453, a bill that would probhibit government competition in public infrastructure projects.
The League testified in opposition as did the County Road Association of Michigan. The bill was supported by various business community groups including the Michigan Infrastructure Transportation Association (MITA).
The chair and bill sponsor, Rep. McMillan, indicated that he doesn't intend to vote on this bill for a few weeks; however, this will be an issue we must continue to fight.
