The Michigan State Policy Emergency Management Division has announced the availability of funding for Fiscal Year 2011 under the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program.
To be considered for funding, a "Notice of Intent" (NOI) must be submitted to the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management Division and Homeland Security Division by August 13th. If invited to complete a application a first draft will then be due by September 24th and the full application by December 3rd.
Hazard mitigation activities are intended to reduce or eliminate future property damages and or/loss of life from natural hazards such as floods, tornadoes and storms. The programs provide funds for hazard mitigation planning activities and implementation of mitigation projects.
Program details are available here. If you have additional questions or would like a NOI form, contact Joel Pepper at 517-336-2039 or Matt Schnepp at 517-336-2040.
