This afternoon the House Oversight, Reform and Ethics committee reported HB 4572, a bill that creates a hard cap for health insurance premiums. You can view the committee passed bill here:HB4572.h7.pdf (689.50 kb)
The bill caps insurance premiums at $5,000 for a single person, $10,000 for a couple and $15,000 for family coverage. The substitute that passed committee also penalizes a local unit that does not comply by cutting statutory revenue sharing payments by 10 percent.
Contact your legislator and ask them to OPPOSE this legislation. This one size fits all approach does not work for our communities.
