We all know about the gems in our community, but it's nice when they are recognized nationally. The American Planning Association released its 2009 Great Places in America.  The lists include great neighborhoods, great streets and great public spaces.  Several Michigan communities made the lists. Front Street in Traverse City and South Main Street in Ann Arbor made the list of great streets while East Park in Charlevoix made the great public spaces lists.  These are just a few examples of what makes our communities great!
