The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment (formerly DEQ) has announced the availability of Coastal Zone Management grants for 2011.  Coastal communities are invited to apply for funding that promotes the goals of the program through the development of waterfront, habitat protection, and recreational projects, including the restoration of historic maritime structures and the revitalization of urban waterfronts.  These matching grants are available up to a maximum of $60,000 and the application deadline is May 15, 2010.
