Making good on a campaign promise, Govenor Snyder has released what he terms a simpler, easy to read document of state finances, compared to the usual, legally required and more complex Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
The report was actually commissioned by the group, Business Leaders for Michigan, and conducted by the Lansing-based Anderson Economic Group with assistance from the Citizens Research Council of Michigan, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Government Finance Officers Association.
In releasing the report, the Governor also encouraged local governments to "make financial information more transparent and accessible to residents by using the same tools used to create the Citizen's Guide to Michigan's Financial Health."
