LANSING, Michigan
- Governor Rick Snyder signed into law Tuesday (Dec. 13, 2011) a five-bill package that creates a new economic development and community revitalization program for Michigan communities.

Michigan Municipal League Staff Andy Schor and Nikki Brown attended the bill signing ceremony and received a signed copy of the bill from the Governor. The League supported the bill package that replaces the Brownfield tax credits and was included in a press release from the governor’s office.

In the release, League Board President Karen Majewski, Mayor of Hamtramck, states "Michigan’s communities are doing all we can with properties and buildings that have become neglected and are in a state of deterioration. The signing of these bills today will help our communities to continue to address these obsolete and blighted eyesores."
