Michigan Governor Rick Snyder delivered a special message on infrastructure and transportation at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011. The message addressed Michigan’s roads, road funding, bridges, and public transit. This was the Governor's fourth special message of the year. The other messages have been on local government reform, education and health and wellness.
The League was supportive of today's announcement stating the plan paves the way for economic growth and community investment in Michigan, but we did have some concerns about how the proposal distributes some of the funding. Overall, League officials remain optimistic that those details can be worked out as discussions continue.
