The Renaissance Zone Act includes provisions for new subzones or extensions of subzones, but MEDC has indicated that provision in the Act expires at the end of the year.  According to the MEDC, anyone with a subzone left, or that needs an extension, must do it by the end of the year if they have one of the original geographic renaissance zones.  If you have quesitons, you can contact Peter Anastor at the MEDC at anastorp1@michigan.org or at (517) 373-9014.

Andy Schor is the Assistant Director of State Affairs for the Michigan Municipal League. Contact him at (517) 908-0300 or by email at aschor@mml.org.
