This afternoon the Senate Regulatory Reform committee passed HB 4293, bills that would expand the types of fireworks sold in Michigan to expressly include aerial fireworks.

Verions of this legislation have been in the works for several legislative sessions, but this is the furthest it has gotten in the process. The League requested an amendment today to preserve more local control, and the amendment was adopted in committee.

The bill now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
