The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency is currently accepting applications for $405 million in funding through the "Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program." Applications are due by September 9, 2011.
Awards are made to local fire service agencies and unaffiliated EMS providers. Funds can be used to support training programs, firefighter health and safety programs, the acquisition of equipment or response vehicles, and modifications to facilities.
