The Congress moved forward last week with a short-term fix for the Highway Trust Fund.  Both the House and Senate adopted a measure directing $7 billion to address the impending shortfall in the fund.  The action comes amid efforts by House Transportation Committee leaders to enact a six-year authorization of federal transportation funds, which was opposed by the Obama administration and will now wait until after the August recess.
