This morning the Senate concurred on SB 166, a bill that would eliminate some driver responsibility fees.
The League initially had concerns about funding fire protection grants, but an amendment in the House dedicates the first $8.5 million to fire protection grants, protecting them under the bill.
The old formula dedicated $3 million to fire protection grants after the first $65 million and $5 million if the fund reached $100 million. This new formula protects this funding for those eligible communities.
The bill now heads to the Governor for his signature.
