On Wednesday afternoon the House Transportation Committee will take up SB 166, a bill that would limit collection of certain driver responsibility fees.

This bill was discharged by the Senate onto the floor before the summer break and did not receive a hearing in the Senate. As passed the Senate it would cause a revenue loss of about $31.6 million.

Fire protection grants are funded by driver responsibility fees, so it's critical this revenue be replaced for those communities.
