Drinking Water Security Act

Local drinking water utilities should take notice of legislation introduced in Congress, H.R. 3258, that would create a chemical security program for drinking water utilities.  There is concern that the bill would impact the ability for local officials to determine how they treat and distribute local drinking water.  The American Water Works Association recently met with Congressional leaders to discuss the issue and members are urged to add this to their issues discussion list as the meet with congressional members over the next few weeks.
