It somehow seems appropriate to followup the last blog on Stockholm with an annoucement regarding the "Dozen Distinctive Destinations" awards program.  Each year since 2000, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has selected 12 destinations that offer an authentic visitor experience by combining dynamic downtowns, diverse cultural activities, attractive architecture and a strong commitment to historic preservation, sustainability and revitalization.  The 2010 application is now available with nomination forms due on September 1, 2009.  Visit www.PreservationNation.org/ddd to learn more and apply.
