Yesterday, DEQ release a public notice regarding their guidelines for the water/sewer portion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  The public notice and the draft guidelines can be found at the following website:

It's important to note that these guidelines are saying that the stimulus funds will be used to give 40% forgiveness for projects that receive funding.  League staff will continue to work with Legislative leaders and DEQ to clarify how this percentage was decided upon.

Public comments regarding these guidelines are being taken until the close of business on March 26, 2009.  Comments can be send to:

In addition, we want to remind members that May 1, 2009 is the deadline to submit projects for the FY 2010 drinking water priority project list; June 1, 2009 is the deadline for sewer projects.
