The $1.1 trillion consolidated spending bill (H.R. 3288) passed by the Congress, contains funding for programs of importance to local communities including transportation, housing, crime prevention and community development. The good news is that, in many program areas, the funding remained level or increased. And, it includes over $141 million for 150 projects throughout Michigan. Additionally, a provision within the Department of Defense appropriations bill will contain another 2-month extension of the current federal transportation act until Congress can act on a more long term extension.
