This afternoon the conference committee on SB 7 approved the conference report. The report is similar to the version that passed the House. There is a preference for a hard cap; however, a public employer can opt into an 80/20 cost sharing arrangement. This has been changed to 80/20 of total costs, not just premium share. A local unit of government may opt out entirely by a 2/3 vote of its governing body.
You can view the conference report here: SB7 conf rpt.pdf (19.40 kb)
The legislature also put together a frequently asked questions page that may be viewed here:SB7 FAQ.pdf (67.67 kb)
We expect the Senate to vote on this conference report tomorrow.
