The Senate Economic Development Committee took up SB 556 last week.  This legislation creates the Business Development program.  The League put in a card in support but did not testify due to the very busy agenda in the committee.

This bill, along with the Community Redevelopment legislation (SB 566-568) will be taken up for testimony in House Commerce Committee on Wednesday.  Because of the League’s Convention, I will not be able to attend and testify.  I will be submitting written testimony in support of the bills but listing our concerns, though, and that testimony is below.

Additionally, the bills are expected to taken up for a vote on October 11th, and I will be there to testify if needed.
