This morning the Senate Restructuring and Reforms Committee listened to two hours of testimony from local government officials on PA 312 and the Urban Cooperation Act. League members made a great showing as mayors and managers met in Lansing to talk to the committee about including a definition of ability to pay and internal comparables in PA 312 and removing key barriers from the Urban Cooperation Act. All of the League representatives were right on message to urge the legislators to do REAL reform, not the bills as introduced. The committee is expected to meet again

next week as they hear from union representatives.
