The Michigan Coastal Management Program within the Office of the Great Lakes, Department of Environmental Quality has announced the release of a Request for Proposal for Coastal Zone Management Grant projects that will start January 1, 2012.  Coastal units of government are eligible.

The Coastal Management Program provides financial assistance to protect, manage, and restore coastal communtiies and habitats; restore historic structures; revitalize urban waterfronts, and increase recreational opportunities along Michigan's Great Lakes coast. Grant funds are made available from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), pursuant to the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) of 1972.
