Yesterday afternoon the Senate reported HBs 4309-4312, bills that amend the Urban Cooperation Act and related statutes to remove barriers to cooperation.

In the versions that passed the Senate, there was language (see the red language on page 3) that would transfer contracts and contract obligations to a new entity. This was an issue for communities because there wouldn't necessarily be cost savings.

The House was also concerned with the affect of this amendment. They stripped out the amendment and sent it back to the Senate.

The Senate meets on July 13, and we expect to have meetings prior to that date to work on these issues.
