Today the House passed SB 190, the cable dispute resolution bill. Recall that a few weeks ago the House passed its version. This version went unanimously through the House Energy & Tech committee on Tuesday and escaped today with only 3 "no" votes cast. It is very disappointing that this legislation passes containing the "loser pays" provision. I anticipate that as cases start to build up at the Public Service Commission, this becomes a real problem. You know, I had a legislator say something to me a few weeks ago about how they never hear cable "horror" stories from their communities. So I'm urging all of you to share you horror stories with your legislators. Only 33 current members of the House voted on PA 480 in late 2006. Let's let all these newer members know that this law is NOT been successful! There is not competition, customer service by cable companies is terrible, and yet revenue for the industry keeps increasing. The more they're aware of the problems, the more incentive they have to fix them.  Speaking of, now on to the 2 percent!
