PA 480 of 2006 was promised to be the answer to all of the consumers' concerns. There was to be a magical world where customers loved cable and competition between providers would be rampant. Now, nearly 3 years later, Comcast is still by far the state's largest provider, and at least personally I know my cable bill hasn't gone down even a cent (actually it keeps going up.) A few great articles were published in the Detroit Free Press this weekend discussing how PA 480 has basically failed to live up to every promise made when lawmakers pushed their voting buttons.
