SB 190, the cable dispute resolution bill, is up on the Senate floor at 10 o'clock this morning. If you haven't already contacted your Senators, please give them a call and ask for support of the Van Woerkom amendment that would allow assessment of attorney fees only in cases that are frivolous. This amendment is a compromise that would benefit all parties. The cable industry is telling Senators that this amendment "guts" the bill. That argument doesn't even make sense as the amendment only touches on the penalty portion of the bill, not the mediation procedure itself.  Failure to adopt this amendment would have taxpayer dollars paying attorney fees for cable. Call your Senator this morning!
