So apparently a group of business execs have come up with another
study saying that the state's lousy business image centers around our tax and regulatory structrure. Now I suppose you can get a study to say whatever you want when you're paying for it and believe me, I have nothing against those who have done a tremendous job of growing their business during these tough economic times. However, going back to former Governor Engler, we've been cutting taxes and addressing regulatory issues in this state for 10 years and still we find ourselves where we are. Rather than sound like a broken record with failed policies, let's try something new...like investing in creating great places where talented people want to live. Where college graduates want to remain. People don't go to Chicago, Madison, Minneapolis, and the great cities across this country thinking about low taxes and regulations. They go there because of the quality of life that they offer. So please, lets stop the insanity and try to think differently about what will help our state to grow.
