The Senate Appropriations Committee is taking up two bills this Thursday at 9:30 am that give locals the ability to bond for OPEB (Other Post Employment Benefits). The bills do have certain restrictions, such as they currently limit use to communities with a bond rating of A or higher and the community can only bond for 75% of the liability, among other things. The bills, HB 4073 and SB 927 are supported by the League.
