October 1 is only 9 days away, and downtown Lansing is in a frenzy of budget anticipation. Today the House voted on the Community Colleges conference report but has yet to take action on any of the 15 other budget bills. The General Government budget conference committee (i.e., revenue sharing) met briefly this morning before Senator Pappageorge recessed. I've spoken to Senator Pappageorge multiple times today as well as Rep. Durhal (the House General Government Chair) and Rep. Cushingberry (House Appropriations Chair). We're working hard to preserve revenue sharing for our communities and have a number of good allies in the legislature. It's important to for you to keep the pressure coming from the district.
