From time to time, I get annoucements about upcoming workshops for various transportation workshops and seminars. I received this one today and considering that the early signup deadline is close, I'd post it here for folks to see.
The Michigan Concrete Paving Association Workshop provides a unique opportunity to train and network with concrete paving professionals from across the state and around the nationa. The Workshop is a comprehensive training program tailored to meet the needs of participants at all levels of the industry.
In an environmentally conscious world, the construction of Green Highways has risen to the forefront for highway planners and designers. Green highways are environmentally responsible and sustainable in their design, construction and maintenance. The 2009 workshop will explore responsible environmental practices and the opportunities and challenges they present for the concrete paving industry. Discussion groups will look at the policy and environmental factors driving the environmental movement. Time-tested strategies, techniques and mix designs will be examined and evaluated from an evnironmental perspective.
