2 inch rule bill passes House Committee

This morning the House Judiciary Committee reported HB 4589 which would reinstate the 2 inch rule for municipal sidewalk liability. This bill is a huge victory for local units of government who are struggling with the costs of sidewalk liability following last year's Supreme Court ruling in Robinson v. City of Lansing.

We expect this bill to be taken up on the House floor as early as next week.
